He has previously worked at the MRC Cyclotron Unit, Montreal Neurological Institute and GlaxoSmithKline. Roger has published over 120 peer reviewed journal articles in the field of imaging and has led the development of bio-mathematical tools for application in a range of imaging sciences aspects.

Roger is also Professor of Molecular Neuroimaging in the Division of Brain Sciences at Imperial College London and Visiting Professor in the Department of Engineering at the University of Oxford.

Roger is an applied mathematician who received his doctorate degree in bio-mathematic modelling of Positron Emission Tomography (PET) data from the University of Warwick in 1996.
