IMPETus award programme aims to encourage the wider use of imaging and to enable researchers new to the area to gather the data required for its inclusion in full grant applications. The awards are open to researchers wishing to conduct a pilot Positron Emission Tomography (PET) project to enable them to generate a sufficient basis to subsequently make a full grant application around an important scientific question.
The award supports pilot proposals of outstanding scientific merit that:
- Use existing tracers in innovative ways to investigate new disease areas or applications
- Clearly demonstrate the value of the pilot data in supporting the full grant application
Successful candidates receive support for PET and any related MRI scans necessary to optimise the quantification of their PET data. They can use any PET tracers already implemented at Imanova. The IMPETus award programme provides researchers with an opportunity to acquire pilot data sufficient to be used in an application for an independent research programme, to be undertaken at Imanova.
These awards are extremely important for Imanova to realise their mission of enabling innovation in the drug development process through the application of imaging.
